Dr. S. Mohamed was an expert witness in a meeting on drought in Somalia/Somaliland held by Honorable John McKay, member of Parliamen. Mr. Brian Stiller, the Global Ambassoder of WEA, who is in charge of fund raising to support drought victims was also there. The meeting was in Torontoon July 29, 2011.
Dr. Saeed S. Mohamed attended a round table meeting on drought mitigation in the Horn of Africa Particularly Somalila/ Somaliland. The meeting was chaired by Hon. Bob Rae, leader of the Liberal Party. Other parliamentarians also attended. The meeting was held in Toronto on July 21, 2011.

Dr. Saeed Sheikh Mohamed, the President of the Somaliland University of Technology, had the honor to meet with Professor Martin Bunch, Ph.D, the Associate Dean, Faculty of Environmental Studies, York University, Canada. The venue was at Dr. Martin's office at York Univesity.
The meeting was very warm and stimulating. The two parties exchanged information regarding their respective universities and discussed the opportunities of cooperation.

Dr. Saeed Sheikh Mohamed, the President of the Somaliland University of Technology got an invitation from Professor Paul Beamish, Ph.D. who is Canada Research Chair in International Business, Director, Ivey Publishing, Director, Engaging Emerging Markets Research Centre, Director, Asian Management Institute. The meeting took place in his office at the University of Western Ontario on May 6, 2011.
The discussion was interesting and stimulating. The two parties disussed venues of cooperation. Thanks that Dr. Beamish offered us a digital librairy "Empowering Business Educators" making Ivey Case Studies available among many others.

The Somaliland University of Technology signed an agreement of cooperation with the Cape Peninsula University of Technology of South Africa, with other two universities: The State University of Zanziba in Tanzania, and the University of Toamasina in Madagascar, as well as ECOAfrica (a consultency firm).
The five parties agreed to work together as full partners with in the framework of Intra-ACP Academic EU Funded Program. The main objective of the program is to develop and/or enhance the graduate studies programs of each university and to exchange staff, faculties, and Students.
The group worked hard to prepare the project proposal for fund application that all parties contributed. The Cape Peninsula University of Technology being the coordinator sumbitted the application before the deadline (06 May 2011).
A Somaliland Delegation of three professors led by Dr. Saeed Sheikh Mohamed, the President, and included Professor Abdi Hakim Yusuf Khaire, Professor Mohamed Farah Mouse, left the country on 27th of Feb, 2010 to Khartoum, Sudan to attend an International conference that is to start at the University of Khartoum on 1st March, 2010. The conference shall discuss, analyze, sort out recommendations on how to enhance: teaching and learning process of EAP (English for Academic purposes and ESP (English for Specific Purposes).
Somaliland University of Technology got an official invitation from the British Council and the UK Embassy in Sudan.
Somaliland University of Technology awarded twenty (20) scholarships to the top graduates from Somaliland secondary schools; and another twenty scholarships to the top primary school graduates.
The university also offered thirty (30) scholarships to young women for its Women’s’ Empowerment Programme.
This has been done without any financial support from any other entity.
